#WorldOceansDay is a global celebration on June 8 with hundreds of events around the world celebrating our ocean.

Sibuya and the Sustainable Seas Trust (SST) & Sea Pledge joined forces in the world wide celebration of honouring our oceans. With the help of 23 students, two teachers, from the local Klipfontein School and two SST staff members, 18 bags of rubbish were collected along the banks of the Kariega River.  Chris Ovens did an amazing job at teaching the kids about what the ocean means to us and future generations as well as how many thousands of years it takes for plastics, tin, fishing line, glass etc to disintegrate.

A huge thank you also goes to Ranger Daniel and Ranger Cameron for taking everyone safely up and down the river.
